52nd Niantic Outdoor Art/Craft Show

The Show is centrally located on the attractive and spacious grounds of the East Lyme Town Hall, Exit 74 off I-95, 2 ½ miles South on Route 161. The show is an annual juried outdoor art and craft show. For two glorious days in July, thousands of visitors come to browse and buy at Niantic Outdoor Art/Craft Show. Every exhibitor is provided a 10’ x 10’ booth. The Art/Craft show in held in conjunction with the Niantic Lions Annual Lobsterfest that helps to draw a large attendance for the show. 

Exhibition Policies

Entries in both Art and Craft categories will be accepted. Art and Craft entries will be considered separately by the jury. The jury may, at their discretion, limit the number of exhibitors in any one medium.

There are approximately 181 exhibitor spaces available.

Each participant is pre-assigned a 10 X 10 foot space. Exhibitors must provide their own display racks, chairs, tables, easels, sun and rain covers. There is no limit to the number of items which may be displayed. All work must remain until closing time both days.

No commission is collected on the sale of works.

In the event of a conflicting exhibit opportunity, participants may enlist a representative to exhibit and sell their work. No agent or dealers may register for the purpose of selling work that is not their creation.

The Decision of the Niantic Outdoor Art & Craft Show regarding jury selection, awards & space allocation will be final

All exhibited work must be the original work of the registered artist or crafts person and of the same nature and caliber as that which was accepted by the jury.

 The Niantic Outdoor Art & Craft Show Committee reserves the right to remove any work which has not been officially accepted by the jury process, or does not otherwise meet the standards established by previous shows.  Such exhibitor shall not be entitled to any refunds of fees paid in connection with the show.

The participation is at the entrants own risk. Members of the Niantic Outdoor Art & Craft Show Committee, the Town of East Lyme or the Niantic Lions Club are responsible for any loss or damage of any kind. The Niantic Outdoor Art & Craft Show is a juried exhibition. This ensures the high caliber of work that has gained excellent public support.

Application Information

ORIGINAL FINE ART, including sculpture and photography, and ORIGINAL FINE CRAFT will be considered for acceptance by the jury.
While consideration will be given to returning exhibitors who request a particular space, this CANNOT BE GUARANTEED, early registration is suggested. Decision on space allocation by the Niantic Outdoor Art & Craft Show Committee is final.

ALL ENTRANTS MUST SUBMIT TO THE JURY PROCESS, PRIOR PARTICIPATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACCEPTANCE IN THIS YEAR’S SHOW, SINCE JURORS CHANGE.

Jury Procedure and Fees
Applications must be received by March 31, 2012
In applying please submit the following:

• Completed application form attached. Click here for form.
  
• Two separate checks, one for non-refundable jury fee and one for the booth fee. Make checks out to: “Niantic Lions Charities”
  
• The Jury Fee is $20.00 ($25.00 after the March 31 Deadline)
  
• The Booth Fee is $150.00 for a 10 X 10 space, $250.00 for a 10 X 20 space & $375.00 for a 10 X 30 space.
  
• No Postdated checks will be accepted
  
• A brief resume and complete description of current work, including price range, in the medium you will be exhibiting.
  
• Four (4) recent close-up photo’s or on a CD, one of which the NOACS committee will keep, of current work you will be exhibiting including one (1) of booth setup in addition to (3) of work. Artist’s Name (not company) must be on each photo.
  
• A #10 self-addressed stamped envelope with enough postage for the return of photo’s or CD and notification of jury decision. No Notification can be made without #10 Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope.

Notification will be made by April 30 after jury action.
Show Rules and information will be provided with acceptance notification.

Set Up Policies

Check in at the registration booth no earlier than 6:30am on Saturday. (Friday night from 4:00 to 8:00pm)

Short term parking for loading and unloading only will be allowed on the East Lyme Town Hall grounds. Exhibitor parking during the show will be provided at a remote location with shuttle van service to and from exhibition site. Shuttle will be available all day Saturday & Sunday.

Exhibitors may leave displays intact on Friday & Saturday night. Security will be provided overnight, the Niantic Outdoor art & Craft Show, the Town of East Lyme and the Niantic Lions Club are in no way responsible for loss or damage of any kind.

Exhibitors should be fully set up no later than 10am Saturday.
